Want to try something new this winter? How about a cross country ski or snowshoe adventure? Novices are welcome, equipment can be made available to you if you don’t have your own, what is holding you back?
Join our partnership of Recreation Departments from Gorham, Cape Elizabeth and Falmouth for a cross country ski or snowshoe excursion. We will go on the Maine Huts & Trails’ groomed trails in the beautiful Western Maine mountains to Flagstaff Hut. The trail to the hut is about 3 km with fine views along the way. Flagstaff has great views of the Bigelow Mountain Range. Once at the lodge enjoy locally sourced, homemade food and the comforts of the lodge including hot showers, radiant heat and a drying room. Wine and local brews are available for purchase at the hut. Enjoy an evening program featuring opportunity for a guided night hike, local history of this man-made lake, or just relax by the fire and enjoy! Accommodations are in shared bunkrooms of 4 or 8 people. Limited private rooms (double occupancy) may be available.

The cost includes your accommodation, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and a trail lunch for your trip out on Sunday. Trip guide and transportation via mini-bus from Gorham and Falmouth also included.Guests are asked not to bring electronics to the huts. Phones are fine, of course, but signal is spotty and they cannot be recharged. Packing instructions will be made available at time of registration.
